Meredith Tinti, MD

Meredith S. Tinti, MD, is a Trauma/Acute Services Surgeon, and serves as the Trauma Medical Director at Health First's Holmes Regional Medical Center. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Spanish from Duke University in Durham, NC. She earned her Medical Degree from MCP-Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia.

Dr. Tinti completed a Residency in Surgery at Robert Wood Johnson University (RWJ) Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. She then completed a Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Most recently Dr. Tinti served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at Rutgers RWJ Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ.

Dr. Tinti has held numerous academic and hospital appointments has an extensive list of active research projects.

Dr. Tinti has received numerous awards and honors, including the Duke University's Dean's List, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the RWJ Intern of the Year Award, RWJ Department of Surgery Resident of the Year Award, RWJ Humanism in Surgery Award, RWJ Outstanding Teaching Attending Award, and nomination of SCCM Shubin-Weil Master Clinician /Teacher: Excellence in Bedside Teaching Award.

Dr. Tinti has been an active member of more than 20 hospital committees, serving as Chair of the RWJ University Hospital Trauma Committee, the Physician Champion of the Central Line Infection Task Force, and the Director of the RWJ University Hospital Trauma Alert Policy Committee.

Dr. Tinti has provided service to the community through volunteer efforts. She served as Medical Director for RWJ Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support course, and a member of the Jersey Emergency Medical Shock Trauma Air Rescue (JEMSTAR) Committee.

Dr. Tinti's teaching responsibilities include Critical Care medical student lectures, Surgery medical students lectures, Surgical Critical Care Fellow, conference and evidence-based medicine log review, Resident Critical Care Conference, daily trauma and critical care teaching rounds, preceptor for Surgery Resident Sheep Lab and Emergency Medicine Resident Cadaver Lab, as well as Mentor for Capstone Student Masters Program. She serves as a Critical Care Reviewer for the World Journal of Surgery, Critical Care Medicine, Hospital Practice and CHEST.

Dr. Tinti has been invited to speak, both locally and regionally, on more than 25 occasions on topics ranging from Traumatic Brain Injury, to Alcohol and Trauma, to Sedation and Analgesia in the Intensive Care Unit. She has written dozens of articles published in peer reviewed journals, and medical books and journals, and has made numerous poster presentations.

Dr. Tinti holds numerous certifications, including Surgical Critical Care Board Certification, General Surgery Board Certification, Basic Life Support Provider, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider, Trauma Ultrasound Provider, Disaster Management & Emergency Preparedness (DMEP), EAST Rib Fixation, ABIM Faculty Development Certification, ASSET Provider, Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Provider/Instructor/Course Director, and Advanced Trauma Operative Management (ATOM) Course Instructor and Director.
