Maya Stambolisky, MD
Maya Stambolisky, MD, has double Board-certifications in Neurology from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in Neuroimaging from the American Society of Neuroimaging.
She received her medical degree from Medical Academy at Sofia, Bulgaria, and completed a Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as well as a Neuroimaging Fellowship at Dent Neurologic Institute and State University of New York in Buffalo.
Dr. Stambolisky's professional interests include cerebrovascular diseases, thrombolytic therapy for stroke, neuro-protective treatments, and neuro-rehabilitation for stroke patients.
Dr. Stambolisky practices General Neurology and sees patients with a wide range of neurological disorders including stroke, epilepsy, MS, Parkinson's disease, migraines, dementia, neuropathy, and others.
Serving as Medical Director of the Stroke Team at Health First Cape Canaveral Hospital, Dr. Stambolisky is also a member of the Credentialing Committee there and has served on the hospital's Medical Practices Quality Committee. She's also a member of the European Neurological Society.
Dr. Stambolisky joined the Health First Physicians Group in September 2006 and has practices in both Cocoa Beach and Viera, Florida.
