Dr. Visa works alongside an interdisciplinary medical team that includes Dr. Laird, as well as specialists in social work, nursing, physical, occupational, and speech therapy; pharmacy; nutritional services; home care, private duty nursing; and hospice care.
Dr. Visa finds providing medical care for senior patients rewarding. She enjoys their years of wisdom and their show of appreciation for services they receive. While helping seniors, she also gets to know their family members. Often understanding the dynamics of the family unit can help in treatment of the patients.
Dr. Visa completed her Medical degree at Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai India, where she grew up. Her post graduate work took place in the UK. Dr. Visa then married a biomedical engineer and they moved to Ohio. There she conducted her internship and residency at Cleveland Clinic Hospital. It was during her geriatric rotation that she knew her focus would be to care for older patients.
Dr. Visa's professional interests include women's health and geriatrics, memory disorders, medication and poly pharmacy assessments, gait and balance assessments, and future planning for her patients.
In addition to her geriatric practice, Dr. Visa serves as a preceptor for University of Central Florida medical students, and teaches neuro psychology students at Florida Institute of Technology as part of her Memory Clinic responsibilities.
Dr. Visa, husband Dr. Sanjay Gopal, and their daughter enjoy traveling, classical music, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
