Stephen J. Schmoll, a member of the Health First Medical Group, is a board-certified Physician Assistant (PA).

Stephen earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Biological Resources Engineering from the University Of Maryland Clark School Of Engineering in College Park, MD. He earned a Master of Physician Assistant (PA) degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. While in Norfolk, Stephen served as a Volunteer Clinician for the HOPES General and Dermatological Student-Run Clinic.

Stephen’s clinical rotations during his PA program included the Pediatric Emergency Department at MCV Physicians in Richmond, VA; the Contemporary Medicine Specialists in Norfolk, VA; the Emergency Physicians of Tidewater in Hampton Roads, VA; the Eastern Virginia Medical School Surgery in Virginia Beach, VA; the Chesapeake Women’s Care in Chesapeake, VA; the Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery in New Port Richey, FL; and the Badolato Family Health and Sports Medicine in Melbourne, FL.

As a part of the Health First Orthopedics team, Stephen’s responsibility includes evaluating and managing orthopedic conditions with non-operative and operative approaches. He treats patients in the office, the hospital and at outside rehabilitation facilities. Stephen provides first assistance in a variety of orthopedic surgeries including total joints, ACL reconstruction, Trillat tubercleplasty, ORIFs, arthroscopies, irrigation & débridements, fusions and tendon repairs and releases.

Before joining Health First, Stephen was a certified phlebotomy technician for a local hospital in Brevard County. Prior to that position, he served as a middle school science teacher in Merritt Island, FL.

Prior to his medical career, Stephen was a Major League baseball player. He played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, as well as for Minor League teams at various organizational levels with the Dodgers, Mets and Nationals. He also played baseball with the Venezuelan Winter League with La Zulia in Maracaibo and Magallenes in Valencia. When he moved to Brevard County, he served as the pitching coach for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy.

Stephen is a resident of Melbourne, FL.
