Nelson Sang, MD
Dr. Sang is board certified in Internal Medicine. He moved to Melbourne from Atlanta, Georgia after completing Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Grady Memorial Hospital & Morehouse School of Medicine in 1996. He became Board Certified in Internal Medicine in 1996, and Re-certified in 2006.
He has developed interest in treating cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, and obtained the Heart/Stroke Certificate of Recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance Association in 2011.
He also obtained the Diabetes Physician Recognition Program from the same National Committee for Quality Assurance. Physicians who achieve DPRP Recognition show their peers, patients and others in the Diabetes community that they are part of an elite group that is publicly recognized for its skill in providing the highest-level diabetes care.
He is also a medical director at Consulate Nursing Home. He is licensed in the state of Florida, in the state of Georgia and in the State of Utah. He also serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Central Florida.
Dr. Sang began serving Brevard in 1998 and focuses on primary and preventive care, and on treatment of chronic conditions like diabetes, hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Dr. Sang is originally from the Dominican Republic, graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in 1988, eventually moving to the United States in 1992.
He is also actively involved at Holmes Regional Medical Center (former chairman of the Department of Medicine), and Viera Hospital (current Chairman of the Department of Medicine). He is also Medical Director at Consulate Rehab center, and Rockledge Rehab Center. Dr Sang is also on Staff at Kindred Hospital. In October of 2013 recieved NCQA recognition for Delivery of Quality Diabetes Care.
