Richard Pectol, ARNP
A hospitalist is a provider who specializes in caring for patients while they are in the hospital. Hospitalists work closely with your primary care provider and frequently inform him or her of your condition.
When you require hospitalization, your provider or an Emergency Department physician will coordinate your admission with a hospitalist. The hospitalists are on site 24 hours a day and work closely with all hospital staff to coordinate your care.
Richard Pectol, ANRP is part of our Health First hospitalist team. He earned his Master of Science Nursing Adult/Geriatric Practitioner from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL. His Bachelor of Nursing was earned from the University of Texas in Arlington, TX. He also received an Associate degree in Nursing from Grayson County College in Denison, TX.
Richard has his State of Florida Advanced Nurse Practitioner License (ARNP) and is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Adult/Geriatric. He is also a State of Florida licensed Registered Nurse (RN) and has received his Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
Richard is a decorated soldier earning accommodations and awards from the United States Navy, Army and Marine Corps. Before joining Health First Medical Group, Richard served in the United States Navy Reserves as Lieutenant Commander in Nurse Corps Emergency Trauma. He was deployed during Operation Enduring Freedom to staff Kandahar Airfield Combat Hospital in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He was Team Leader in surgery, medicine and trauma providing care to combat forces, civilian support staff and enemy combatants.
Richard also served with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs as a Staff Nurse - Orlando Area VA Clinics. He performed triage of acutely and chronically ill veterans. He also worked at the Infectious Diseases and Consultants of the Treasure Coast as a Certified Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner performing initial assessment of referrals for infectious processes and non-healing wounds. Additionally, Richard spent several years with Health First's Cape Canaveral Hospital as an Emergency Department Staff Nurse. Past positions also include Emergency Room Nurse with Wuesthoff and Case Manager for Shands Homecare in Melbourne. While in Texas, Richard worked as a Homecare Staff Nurse for Healthcor, Inc. a Nurse Liaison for Cardio System, Inc. and as a Surgical Intensive Care Staff Nurse at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
