David S. Norris, MD
David Norris, MD, is Board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Medical Management. He shares his Palm Bay practice with fellow Internal Medicine Specialist David Hurwitz, MD, also with Health First Physicians.
Moving to Palm Bay from Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Norris had extensive experience as an Internal Medicine specialist before joining Health First Physicians. He attended Medical School at the University Of Cincinnati College Of Medicine and did an Internship and Residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has also been a Medical Director for large physician groups, physician leader for Health Care Systems, medical staffs, and managed care companies.
Dr. Norris has been involved with Research and Teaching Medical Students, Physicians, Nurses, Allied Health Professions and Patients.
Dr. Norris was recognized by the National Committee on Quality Assurance as a Patient Centered Medical Home (the first physician in Brevard County, Florida).
Dr. Norris strongly believes and encourages Preventive Medicine in his practice and empowering patients to improve their health and well being. He likes to practice what he preaches and runs and does other exercise daily and has run a number of Marathons and continues to run half Marathons.
Dr. Norris enjoys spending time with his family. He has 4 adult children and one toddler (he takes her on his morning jogs). He, also, has 4 amazing grandchildren. Being involved and giving back to the community is very important to him. He has been active on volunteer Boards of Directors throughout his career.
He has been an active member of the Medical Staff at Health First's Palm Bay Hospital in Palm Bay, since 2003.
