Beth Decordova, ANP-C

Beth Decordova is an Advance Nurse Practitioner (ANP) and a member of the Health First Medical Group. She is board certified by the Florida Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Maryland Board of Nursing, and the California Board of Registered Nursing. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Beth earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. She earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) with a focus in Gerontology/Elderly Adults from San Diego State University in San Diego, Ca. While there, she also completed a Clinical Nurse Specialist program in Acute/Critical Care.

While attending San Diego University, Beth received many awards, including the Matthew H. and Marion C. Dietschman Scholar, and the Scripps President’s Scholar. She was the recipient of the Veteran’s Administration Nurse Practitioner Traineeship. She also was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honors Society.

Before joining Health First, Beth served as an ANP for the Cardiac Surgery Outpatient Clinic at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Md. She then moved to Cardiology Consultants of Newport in Newport Beach, Ca., where she served in the Cardiology Outpatient Clinic. Beth began her ANP experience at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, serving in the Cardiology Department’s Acute Care/Interventional/ Electrophysiology Unit.

Beth’s ANP experience includes a broad spectrum of capabilities, including obtaining complete histories and conducting physicals; assessment and planning in general cardiology, interventional cardiology, and electrophysiology in both inpatient and outpatient acute care settings; inpatient cardiology admissions and discharges; supervision and interpretation of cardiac exercise and chemical and nuclear stress tests; and pre-operative evaluation, testing, and surgical clearance for cardiac surgery, including coronary artery disease, valve disease, and aortic aneurysms.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), Beth spent 15 years in hospitals in Florida and California, primarily in the cardiology area working with interventional, cardiothoracic, and medical cardiology patient populations. She assisted with a TILT table study of patients with unexplained fainting, performed elective cardioversion procedures used to treat patients with an abnormal and rapid heart rhythm, and conducted transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) tests that produce pictures of the heart.

Beth had also conducted cardiac surgery outpatient surgical follow-up visits; and provided patient and family education on cardiac surgery, heart failure, cardiology procedures, and lifestyle modification. She is proficient with numerous computerized electronic medical record platforms.

Beth holds certifications in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
