Michelle L. Billings, MSN, FNP-C, BC
Michelle L. Billings is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and a member of the Health First Medical Group, serving patients in the Gateway location with Cardiologist Dr. Enrique Polanco.
Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Keiser University in Melbourne, Fl., where she was named Salutatorian. She earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from South University in Savannah, Ga., where she graduated with honors.
Michelle completed extensive FNP clinical experience, working with individuals and families throughout the life span and across the health continuum. This experience enabled her to strengthen independent and interdependent decision-making and assume direct accountability for clinical judgment. During this period of her clinical education, Michelle was able to use research development, implement health policy, enhance her leadership skills, as well as develop strong case management and consultative capabilities.
Before joining the Health First Medical Group, Michelle served as a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse for the Surgery Center of Melbourne where she managed patient care from pre-operative admission to safe discharge. Michelle began her medical career at Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center, serving ten years as a Registered Nurse in the Orientation Progressive Care Unit and the Neuro Progressive Care Unit. She is proficient in stroke plan of care, traumatic brain injuries, vac systems, tracheotomies, as well as cardiac care protocols.
Michelle holds certifications in Intravenous (IV) therapy, National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Assessment, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
