Hospitalist

A hospitalist is a provider who specializes in caring for patients while they are in the hospital. Hospitalists work closely with your primary care provider and frequently inform him or her of your condition.

When you require hospitalization, your provider or an Emergency Department physician will coordinate your admission with a hospitalist. The hospitalists are on site 24 hours a day and work closely with all hospital staff to coordinate your care.

Hussien Ballout, MD is part of our Health First hospitalist team. Dr. Ballout earned his Doctor of Medicine at St. George’s University and graduated with a dual major in Biochemistry and Psychology from the University of Michigan, Dearborn. He completed his residency and internship in Internal Medicine at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, MI.

He is certified in advanced cardiac life support and basic life support and is a member of the American College of Physicians.
