Health First Senior Behavioral Wellness
About Our Services
Many older adults experience unique emotional stresses that can oftentimes be helped through specialized care. The compassionate, experienced staff at Health First Senior Behavioral Wellness is here to support older adults.
Emotional despair does not have to be a normal part of aging. From losing a spouse to learning to cope with physical and/or mental limitations, we are dedicated to providing individualized care and treatment for older adults. Quality of life can be renewed as the feelings of despair and hopelessness are changed to hope, joy and inner peace.
Our staff is familiar with the particular psychological needs of older individuals and can determine how to best integrate a treatment plan that fully encompasses the patient and their family. Referrals for an assessment may come from the patient, physicians and other health care providers, a family member, a friend, or a caretaker.
Signs and Symptoms
As we age, changes in capabilities may not be immediately noticeable, or also hard for an independent person to admit. Asking for help may also be a very difficult step to take, but it is very important to recognize signs that could indicate medical assistance might be required.
To help ensure a healthy outlook on life is maintained, the program assists patients with overcoming obstacles that can be associated with growing older, including:
The process begins with scheduling a confidential screening by a qualified professional. The screening will determine the level of care appropriate to each patient based on the presenting symptoms and their level of severity.
Each patient is unique. That’s why we offer an individualized treatment program in which services are provided under the care of a physician who will evaluate the patient on a regular basis.
What to Expect
Health First Senior Behavioral Wellness offers a structured short-term Intensive Outpatient Program that includes a variety of treatment options. Services may include the following:
Patients can expect to attend multiple group therapy services each day of treatment. In a typical week, this can average six to twelve hours depending upon the patient need for treatment as determined by the physician. The services may increase or decrease in hours per week based upon a thorough evaluation of the individual’s unique circumstances and their response to the treatment program.
