Q: Who will pay for my medical equipment?
A:
In most cases, your insurance will cover the cost of your medical equipment. Health First has contracts with Florida Medicaid, Health First Health Plans, Medicare, and Tricare. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding what insurance carriers or networks Health First has entered into a contractual relationship with, please call our Customer Service Department at 321-434-3400 or toll free at 877-713-1400. For your convenience, you may also contact us via email at MedicalEquipment@Health-First.org. We also accept cash, checks, and major credit cards.

Q: What if my equipment breaks on the weekend or in the middle of the night?
A:
Health First Medical Equipment is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You'll always be able to call us and arrange for help by calling 321-434-3400. We will arrive at your doorstep at any time of the day or night to fix your equipment or provide you with a replacement. We have an in-house maintenance department to maintain all of our equipment to the highest standards. If for some reason your equipment should need maintenance, a loaner will be delivered immediately to your door.

Q: They showed me how to use my equipment, but I forgot. What do I do now?
A:
For your convenience, we have posted troubleshooting videos about our most commonly-used equipment. You may also call 321-434-3400, or toll free at 877-713-1400, for voice instructions or to request a service call to your home for assistance.

Q: What if my equipment doesn't work?
A:
Health First Medical Equipment is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You'll always be able to call us and arrange for help by calling 321-434-3400. We will arrive at your doorstep at any time of the day or night to fix your equipment or provide you with a replacement. We have an in-house maintenance department to maintain all of our equipment to the highest standards. If for some reason your equipment should need maintenance, a loaner will be delivered immediately to your door.

Q: What to do in a Hurricane?
A:
In the event of a hurricane, planning is everything. Having a plan for you and your family will help ensure your safety and comfort. At the first sign of a possible hurricane, Health First Medical Equipment contacts all oxygen patients to ensure they have made accommodations for additional oxygen. Due to the high possibility of losing power for an extended period of time during to a storm, we deliver Emergency Back-Up Oxygen for patients requesting a back-up system.

We also encourage you to have your own Emergency Plan. Brevard County Emergency Management officials suggest having sufficient food, water, medicine, and other necessary supplies to last at least three (3) days. Family and friends can take part in formulating your emergency plan. Remember, the best way to make you, your family, and home safer is to be prepared before a disaster happens.
