Palm Bay Community Hospital offers free lecture on Ovarian Cancer

How to be your own advocate

Palm Bay Community Hospital is sponsoring a free lecture entitled Ovarian Cancer: How to Be Your Own Advocate on Friday, September 28, from 3 to 4 pm in the Community Room.

This free lecture will be presented by Alice Spinelli, MSN, ARNP, with the Gynecological Oncology practice of John Bomalaski, MD, Brevard County's only gynecological oncologist. Those attending will learn the facts about cancers of the ovary, cervix, and uterus, including information on prevention and early detection.

Connie Van Asdale, President of the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Florida/Space Coast, a local support group, will also be on hand to tell her story as a survivor of ovarian cancer and the advocacy efforts locally.

The lecture is part of the free Health First Healthy Happenings series offered every month at each of Health Firsts hospitals - Cape Canaveral Hospital, Holmes Regional Medical Center, and Palm Bay Community Hospital.

Seating is limited, so reservations should be made in advance by calling the Health First Events Line at 321-434-4335.

Dr. John Bomalaski
