Consumers Research Council of America names General Surgeon Paul B. Thompson, MD, as one of "America's Top Surgeons"

Merritt Island, FL - General Surgeon Paul B. Thompson, MD, has been named one of "America's Top Surgeons" for 2007 by the Consumers Research Council of America.

Thompson is a member of Health First Physicians, the largest medical group in Central Brevard. On the medical staff of Cape Canaveral Hospital for twenty years, he is board certified in General Surgery.

"Cape Canaveral Hospital congratulates Dr. Thompson for this recognition," said Roy Wright, the hospital's president. "Our hospital is pleased to have a surgeon of this caliber on our medical staff."

Thompson, who grew up in Rockledge, holds a degree in Physics from Georgia Tech. He attended Medical School at University of South Florida and conducted his internship and residency in Surgery at the University of Texas. Thompson and his wife have two children.

The Consumers' Research Council of America is an independent research company based in Washington, D.C. that evaluates professional services throughout America. They select the nation's "Top Surgeons" by using a point value system. The criteria include experience, training, education, professional associations, and board certification. Surgeons who have accumulated a certain amount of points qualified for the list. No fees, sponsorships, donations, or advertising are accepted to ensure an unbiased selection.

According to the Consumers' Research Council of America, the "Top Surgeons" list is a good starting point to find a qualified surgeon. For more information, contact the Consumers' Research Council at www.consumersresearchcncl.org
