Health First Leeza's Place is sponsoring an educational lecture on Stoke Awareness and Prevention on Tuesday, August 28, at 10:30 am. Featured speaker is Eugene Shepherd, M.D. and former Chief of the Neurology Division at Holmes Regional Medical Center and the founding Medical Director of the Memory Disorder Clinic.
According to The American Heart Association, stroke is the third leading cause of death in the U.S., and the leading cause of serious long-term disability. Stroke is one of the most preventable of all life-threatening diseases.
Dr. Shepherd will discuss the importance of knowing the signs of stroke and lowering stroke risks.
The Stroke Awareness and Prevention lecture is free and open to the public. It will take place at Health First Leeza's Place, 1948 Dairy Road, West Melbourne, Fl., in the Oakwood Square Business Center.
