Saturday, Sept. 1st from 10:00 to 2:00
Hospice of Health First is offering a Teens Linking Lives training session on Saturday, September 1, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Teens are encouraged to attend to learn how they can volunteer their time and talents to assist those experiencing end-of-life issues.
"Our Teens Linking Lives program is a great way to provide volunteer opportunities for young people in our community," said Valerie Kenworthy, Volunteer Coordinator for Hospice of Health First. "Through this program, teens can positively experience life, death, caring, and compassion."
"There are many ways teen volunteers can assist Hospice of Health First at the skilled nursing facilities or the William Childs Hospice House. We need volunteer help with video production, scrap booking, special events, birthday and anniversary celebrations, as well as help creating and delivering crafts and flowers to patients."
Not only does the Teens Linking Lives program provide an opportunity for young people to serve the community where they live, it also can assist teens in fulfilling community service learning requirements.
The Hospice of Health First teen training session will take place at the Hospice of Health First office on 1900 Dairy Road in West Melbourne in the Oakwood Square Business Complex.
