Health First is pleased to be the first healthcare organization in Brevard County to offer full-service, electronic transactions over the Internet. In keeping with our commitment to making customer service a focus in 2006, we kicked-off a new system on January 3rd that will allow consumers to pay their bills, complete pre-registration, and request outpatient scheduling, all from the comfort of their home using the Internet.
"We're offering the type of online services that our patients have come to expect from other industries. These services include the ability to view the details of their accounts, request copies or re-bill their insurance companies, pay their bills or make payment arrangements, all online," says Health First's Vice President and Chief Information Officer Rich Rogers. While general services are available for all users, in keeping with HIPAA privacy and security rules, patients using detailed account services must acquire a one-time Activation Key to access their accounts for the first time.
Additionally, Health First has become the first in Brevard County to offer patients the convenience of pre-registering and requesting outpatient scheduling via the Internet. A secured messaging service is also provided to give patients the ability to ask detailed questions regarding their services and accounts. By pre-registering and scheduling online, patients will have little or no wait time when coming to the hospital for outpatient or other services.
