To be held during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October
A free Community Breast Cancer Awareness/Educational Conference will be held on Saturday, October 27, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at Calvary Chapel of Melbourne, 2955 Minton Road in West Melbourne. Local physicians from OMNI Healthcare, Atlantis Diagnostics, and Melbourne Internal Medicine Associates (MIMA) will present lectures on a variety of breast cancer-related topics, including the latest diagnostic testing and treatment options available.
The event program includes the following speakers:
Gerald Edelstein, DO, a radiologist with Atlantis Diagnostics,
Patrick Domkowski, MD, PhD, a general surgeon with OMNI Healthcare,
Nanialei Golden, MD, a radiation oncologist with MIMAs Melbourne Cancer Center,
Lisa Duhaime, MD, an oncologist with OMNI Healthcare.
The planning committee chair person for the conference is Dr. Duhaime and the Cancer Program Office at Holmes Regional Medical Center.
Refreshments and door prizes will be provided, including drawings for free screening mammograms. Screening mammograms are being donated by Atlantis Diagnostic Center and Health First through its Diagnostic Center in Melbourne and Palm Bay Community Hospital.
