Jim Ridenour

Jim Ridenour began his first term with the Health First Board of Trustees in January 2014, bringing with him a wealth of military and community service experience.

Retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1992, he served as Squadron Commander, Deputy Commander for Operations, Vice Wing Commander, and Director of Command and Control Systems for Air Combat Command at Langley AFB.

He joined Marriott International, Inc. in 1993 and now serves as Dual General Manager of Residence Inn by Marriott, Melbourne, and Courtyard by Marriott, West Melbourne.  Among many awards, he was honored as Courtyard’s GM of the year in 1999 and the Florida Space Coast Council of the National Management Association’s Manager of the Year for 2000 for Brevard County.

Ridenour has served a variety of economic, cultural, tourism, and other community development organizations.  He is now Vice Chair for Advocacy of the Melbourne Regional Chamber of  East Central Florida and serves on the Chamber’s board of directors and executive committee.  He also serves as board member of a myriad of state and local business and community organizations, including the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, the Brevard County Economic Development Commission, and the Brevard County Tourism Development Council.  He was recognized by Florida Today in 2010 as Volunteer of the Year.

Ridenour is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, and is a lifelong member of the Air Force Association and the Military Officers Association of America.  He is a graduate of Ball State University, earned his MS from Central Michigan University, and is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Air War College.
